About The Role

We are looking to bring on board a proficient Financial Accountant to act as the lead company accountant for DAS Law Limited (‘DAS Law’). This role manages all aspects of accounting for DAS Law and acts as the key contact within DAS UK for law accounting matters. This is an excellent opportunity to hold overall responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of accounting for DAS Law, whilst managing a fast and well-controlled month-end ledger close process and maintaining a robust control environment.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality support and advice to the broader business in respect of law accounting matters. Key responsibilities will also include acting as the lead point of contact for DAS Law for external and internal auditors, providing accurate information and explanations on a timely basis. Additionally, the role provides proactive support of DAS UK change initiatives, and has responsibility for reviewing accounting policies and assumptions for DAS Law and presenting options and recommendations to senior stakeholders as appropriate.

This is an important role within our Finance team at DAS UK, and is a great opportunity for a candidate with technical experience and the ability to build and develop solid working relationships. As part of DAS UK’s Financial Accounting & Control team, the role offers many opportunities for personal development and the ability to make a real impact, as well as gaining great exposure to senior stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate will have one direct report, therefore managerial experience is desirable, but not essential. 

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Industry experience is desirable, but not essential
  • Experience of accounting for law firms is desirable, but not essential
  • MS Excel skills are essential
  • Working knowledge of SAP and SOS is preferable
  • Experience of month-end close culture of strict deadlines, tight financial controls and taking responsibility for quality of work produced
  • Ability to resolve problems and improve process efficiency / control
  • Some management experience preferred but not essential
