About The Role

DAS UK Group are looking for a Claims Handler to join the team in our Bedwas Office. Our claims department is at the heart of our market-leading legal expenses insurance provision, and we are looking for individuals who have a passion for going the extra mile to ensure good customer outcomes. We have bright, modern offices and we offer the opportunity of flexible working; most of our colleagues work from home at least part of the week. We offer an excellent and comprehensive benefits package, and our hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday, with no evenings or weekends. We are also open to considering compressed working hours, so please do apply if this would suit you.

You’ll use your excellent customer service skills to manage a diverse range of claims. The job involves telephone and written communications with our customers as well the solicitors and business partners we work with. We’ll offer full training and support along the way, and you will be developed through our careers pathway. The team culture is supportive and focused on developing each other.

As a Claims Handler you can expect to:

  • Manage a diverse range of claims, with a focus on providing excellent customer service to our customers.
  • Oversee the customer experience throughout the claim life-cycle from first point of contact to investigating evidence and making informed decisions on claims outcomes, displaying empathy and compassion throughout.
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate information to our customers, business partners and internal customers.
  • Quickly develop your knowledge of DAS products and policies to become an expert in assessing and identifying claims, and managing appointments of litigators and solicitors where necessary.

About You

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:

  • An understanding of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • A drive to work in a customer facing or technical role
  • A calm and patient manner when dealing with challenging and emotional claims; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
