About The Role

We’re looking for a BTE Underwriter to join our high-performing Underwriting department in our Bristol offices. The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio of insurance business, whilst taking ownership of accounts in collaboration with the sales team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and assessing new insurance business applications and provide our sales team with new scheme quotes and prices for one off insurance cover.
  • Using your analytical skills to understand historic trends and claims experiences to set renewal terms.
  • Pro- and re-actively monitoring and managing your insurance portfolio to ensure it meets our risk appetite and remains profitable.
  • Liaising with insurance companies, brokers and other intermediaries as required to maintain strong relationships.
  • Providing support to the sales team to ensure we continue to provide award winning service.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates that are comfortable working with and manipulating numbers in Excel, and hold the ability to understand historical trends and future projections. You'll have proven relevant experience, but not necessarily in an insurance discipline, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to assess information quickly and effectively.
