About The Role

DAS Law are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Litigation and Dispute Management team in central Bristol on a 12-month fixed term basis. In this role you will lead a team of 3-5 Paralegals, dealing with Fast Track and lower Multi Track contract dispute cases. DAS Law is part of the wider DAS UK Group, which also includes our market-leading Legal Expenses Insurance business, and benefits from this partnership with a steady stream of varied case work coming in to the firm. 

This is a great opportunity to develop your role, expertise and career within the LDM team and will suit somebody who is commercially minded and able to bring great leadership and excellent financial management skills to the team.

The main tasks will include:

  • Supervising, mentoring and developing a team of 3-5 Paralegals
  • Proactively handling your own caseload of contract cases on the Fast/Multi Track, acting for both consumer and commercial clients across a range of complex legal issues including contractual disputes, building and construction disputes, misrepresentation and professional negligence
  • Taking responsibility for all claim stages, from inception to conclusion, including extensive drafting of statements of case and witness statements, direct client contact, advocacy, negotiation, mediation and trial.
  • Interpreting and using management information to achieve efficiencies and greater profitability in the team; and
  • Building appropriate capabilities in order to create clarity and alignment around the strategic and operational objectives to create a culture where people want to be and do their best.
About You

If you are a hard-working and ambitious Solicitor or Legal Executive keen to work in a collaborative team environment we’d like to hear from you! In addition we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Experience of working within the contract litigation area, having dealt previously with commercial and/or consumer contract within a mixed caseload or specialist team;
  • An ability to litigate at all levels of court and have experience of ADR, including mediation;
  • Experience of working in a busy environment and dealing with complex issues quickly and efficiently;
  • An interest in developing a range of legal skills and specialism and be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to client care;
  • A keen interest in business development and a willingness to work with the Principal Associate and Partner to develop new areas of work;
  • Excellent client care skills with the ability to investigate and deal with customer complaints; and
  • Previous experience of managing a team and using management information (ideally).
