About The Role

The DAS UK Group are a specialist Legal Expenses Insurer and part of ERGO Group, one of the major Insurance Groups in Europe. We are making significantly investment in our Information Management capabilities as part of our Business Transformation plans. Our Information Management and Data Strategy has been approved by our Executive Board and as such we are developing a new “Centre of Excellence” for Business Intelligence and Data Governance throughout 2017.

We are looking for a number of experienced Business Intelligence and Data Governance specialists to join the Information Management Team and support our transformation. If you are a BI or DG professional and looking to join a growing Information Management Team, please get in touch.

As the Management Information and Operational Reporting Analyst you will be

  • Providing the Business community and supporting the Cognos BI Self Service User community with the generation and delivery of Management Information and Operational reporting as required, both scheduled and adhoc Cognos reports.

  • Proactively driving efficiency in MI and OR reporting across the business, identifying opportunities to reduce duplication, improve operational efficiency (save time) and ensuring consistency. Where possible decommissioning access and excel where is has historically been used to manipulate and transform data out with the governed Warehouse and Cognos BI platforms.

  • Supporting the MI Manager in ensuring data classification and security processes are embedded and followed, which ensures the team and user community are protected and meet audit requirements.

  • Working as part of the MI Team in close collaboration with the DWH Development Team to take responsibility and accountability for collaborative delivery or reporting and analysis.

  • Supporting the MI Manager and Test/Support resource with test and release management activities where required, this includes supporting UAT activity where required.

About You

As an experienced Management Information and Operational Reporting Analyst you will

  • Be passionate about Data and Information with a strong understanding of Data Architecture principles in order to maximise the potential of a Cognos BI platform, maximise Self Service  BI  reporting and analysis.

  • Be a Cognos BI reporting and analysis expert (Cognos Framework Manager is not an essential skill).

  • Have strong problem solving and planning skills with a can do attitude to manage and mitigate risks to maintain delivery commitments

  • Have knowledge of the insurance industry and working within regulated environments would be useful but not essential

  • Have demonstrable knowledge of MI standards and best practices and standards
