About The Role

DAS UK Group is recruiting for a Full Stack Software Engineer/Full Stack Developer to join the team in Bristol. Whilst this is a permanent, full time position DAS supports flexible working and are open to discuss flexible working options, including remote working.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building user interfaces and business and integration services for the modernisation of a legacy system and to support the delivery of new business capabilities. You will work closely with the in-house Architecture Team, Full Stack Development Manager and the IT Operations team to ensure solutions are designed and built to be fit for purpose and that they meet business and operational requirements.

As a Full Stack Software Engineer you can expect to deliver solutions to the DAS defined Solution Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) and governance, and ensure all project gateways are passed. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other members of the IT Department as well as the Project & Change Management and Information Management and Business Intelligence teams to ensure key outputs are delivered. These include:

  • Tested and functioning solutions that are fit for purpose and meet business and operational (IT) requirements.
  • Fully documented solutions.
Further responsibilities of the role include: 
  • Providing both high level and detailed estimates to enable accurate delivery plans and pipelines to be produced and maintained.
  • Designing, developing and testing IT solutions for user and customer facing web applications and business and integration services.
  • Building solutions within estimate tolerances and in line with the published development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Providing support for existing applications and external customers as required.
  • Ensuring solutions meet defined standards.
  • Providing quality assurance for peer work.
  • Input into the technical solution design and technical specification as required.
About You

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of developing full-stack software applications
  • Experience in core Java/J2EE technologies
  • Experience in service oriented architecture concepts such as REST, XSD, XML parsing, and Web Services client and service development
  • Knowledge and understanding of frameworks
  • 2+years of software development experience in a professional environment
