About The Role

DAS UK Group, a market leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting new opportunity for an IT Governance Lead to join the Architecture and Governance team in central Bristol.

As a member of the Architecture and Governance team, this role will enable you to be at the forefront of DAS’s IT Governance strategy, ensuring the appropriate and robust governance polices and processes are kept up to date and adhered to. In addition, you will support the IT function in understanding and improving its governance, focussing on a number of key areas to include:  

  • Governance of the overall IT function, ensuring compliance to various processes, policies and procedures;
  • Providing support to the Architecture and Governance function, with best practice advice and guidance for their existing and new processes and controls;
  • Supporting the change team in ensuring change at DAS goes through the appropriate governance forums and processes; and
  • Providing direction and alignment for the IT governance in DAS, ensuring our IT Governance is always fit for purpose and up to date for our organisational appetite.
About You

This position would suit someone who possess good technical, process, organisational and communication skills and who is able to confidently report on findings, apply recommendations for corrective and preventative action, and identify opportunities to reduce risk.

If you are enthusiastic and proactive in keeping up with current and future IT Governance practices and can provide recommendations on how to enhance the Company’s IT Governance capabilities and posture, this role could be for you.

Professional skills/experience

  • Demonstrate a good understanding of IT governance frameworks and processes, including working knowledge of ITIL;
  • Knowledge and adherence to data protection legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR, FCA SYSC, PCI DSS);
  • Good understanding of security incident management and incident response processes and activities;
  • Excellent skills in documentation with attention to detail;
  • Good knowledge of process engineering and procedural controls;
  • System administration, supporting multiple platforms and applications;
  • Skilled in identifying vulnerabilities in processes and systems; 
  • Good awareness of the current Threat Landscape;
  • Good understanding of modern malware: execution methods, persistence, detection, delivery mechanisms and entry points;
  • Experience delivering presentations and supporting messaging to leadership teams; and
  • At a minimum, intermediate level of expertise in IT risk management or a related discipline – for example, security, privacy, business continuity management or compliance.
