About The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity to join DAS UK Group, a market leading insurance and legal services provider, as a Senior Claims Handler on a part-time (21 hour) basis. This position will be based in our Bedwas office, near Caerphilly (South Wales).

As a Senior Claims Handler you will be expected to provide an efficient and exceptional service to our High Net Worth customers in relation to the claims and legal advice provision. This will be in addition to meeting bespoke KPI’s and service levels, ensuring that decisions are made in a timely, reasonable and cost effective way.

In addition to the above, you can expect to:

  • Oversee the customer experience throughout the claim life-cycle from first point of contact to investigating evidence and making informed decisions on claims outcomes, displaying empathy and compassion throughout;
  • Manage claims from beginning to end, whilst keeping up with company and legislative requirements to deliver excellent service to our customers;
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate information to our customers, business partners and internal customers;
  • Quickly develop your knowledge of DAS products and policies to become an expert in assessing claims, identifying high-risk claims and managing appointments of litigators and solicitors where necessary;
  • Provide support, coaching and mentoring to new and existing employees to enable them to meet the required levels of performance and develop their career within DAS;
  • Be the subject matter expert for the Claims Team by assisting with highly technical queries, identifying knowledge gaps and providing a solution to those concerns; and
  • Deputise in the absence of the Team Leader providing technical expertise, support and coaching and ensuring levels of performance within the team.
About You

We are looking for individuals who have a passion for going the extra mile for their customers and who can demonstrate:  

  • Experience working in either a claims or legal environment (litigation);
  • A good understanding and application of policy wording to a claims scenario, if your experience is in insurance;
  • If your experience is in law, a good understanding of civil litigation, including prospects of success and alternative dispute resolution processes;  
  • Excellent customer service and an understanding of its impact;
  • Good communication and relationship building skills including the ability to communicate information in a clear and confident manner; adapting style and content to the needs of the customer;
  • Resilience when dealing with difficult and demanding customers; and
  • An aptitude to work with different computer and telephony packages.
