About The Role

DAS Law’s Litigation and Dispute Management (LDM) department has an exciting 12 month Fixed Term Contract opportunity for an Associate to join the Contracts team in central Bristol.

Our LDM team comprises over 40 solicitors, paralegals and support staff and is led by a Legal 500 and Chambers rated partner. The LDM team undertakes a wide range of litigation work, at all Court and Tribunal levels and encourages an early level of client contact and file responsibility.  The team is a hardworking and exceptionally friendly unit which lives the DAS values with a dedication to mutual respect, continuous improvement and client care. 

In the past years the LDM team has experienced significant growth aided by internal promotions and lateral hires.  The team is now looking to further bolster its expertise and capabilities and is seeking Solicitors/FILEX of 0-2 years PQE or with equivalent qualifying experience to join the team.

In this role you will benefit from:

  • Working on a wide variety of litigation and dispute management matters including fast track and multi-track claims and defences on behalf of both commercial and consumer clients;
  • Exposure to a range of complex legal issues including contract disputes, building and construction disputes, misrepresentation and professional negligence; and
  • Responsibility for all claim stages, from inception to conclusion, including extensive drafting of statements of case and witness statements, direct client contact and advocacy.

About You

This is a great opportunity for somebody who wants to build upon and develop their legal expertise/specialism and who can demonstrate:

  • A comprehensive working knowledge of contract law and Civil Procedure;
  • Experience of running a significant case load with minimal supervision;
  • Outstanding client care skills, articulate and confident in your dealings with others; and
  • Experience of case management and financial management.
