About The Role

We have an opportunity for an Associate (0-5 years PQE)  to join our Litigation and Dispute Management Team in central Bristol on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract covering maternity leave, 28 hours per week.

The Litigation & Dispute Management Team is led by a Legal 500 and Chambers-rate partner and deals with a wide range of contract, tort and property cases from large multi-track disputes to small claims cases. The team are dedicated and hardworking and work in a collaborative and friendly environment.

As an Associate in the Property Litigation Team you will proactively handle a caseload of complex and varied property cases predominately on the Fast/Multi Track. You will review and evaluate property claims consisting mainly of damage, nuisance and trespass for prospects of success.

As an Associate you can expect to:
  • Manage a caseload of property litigation files from start to finish;
  • Assess prospects of success of property claims initially and on an ongoing basis;
  • Negotiate claims to a successful outcome through the most efficient and economic means;
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of file administration with the help and support of the Legal Assistant function;
  • Take ownership of customer problems until resolved, ensuring that a high standard of service is provided to the client at all times;
  • Undertake reasonable tasks as instructed by the Senior Associate and assist the Head of Department and leadership team as required;
  • Foster and grow lasting client relationships through the delivery of consistent client service excellence; and
  • Have an opportunity to take on wider roles such as internal training, client presentations and other forms of business development.
About You

We would like to hear from solicitors or candidates with equivalent qualifying experience (NQ - 5 years PQE), who have experience of working within property litigation or civil litigation.

In addition to the above, we’d like to hear from candidates that can demonstrate:

  • A comprehensive working knowledge of property law and civil procedures;
  • Familiarity with running claims, defending claims for property damage, nuisance and trespass (desirable); and
  • knowledge of landlord/tenant litigation experience (desirable but not essential).
