About The Role

We have a new opportunity to join our Client Services Department in Bristol on a 10-12 month Fixed term Contract. As a Business Partner Consultant you will be responsible for the oversight and governance of the regulatory and business risks relating to our business partner relationships in accordance with a risk –based plan, to maintain the regulatory compliance and market reputation of DAS.

Working closely with key internal stakeholders, you will identify risk, evaluate impact and plan an appropriate risk assessment strategy, which may include a full on-site review of the business partner’s controls.

In addition, you can expect to evaluate findings, identify recommendations and effective communicate output to business partners and internal stakeholders. Working with internal stakeholders, you will ensure recommendations and actions are actively progressed and risk is managed. In addition, this role will also encompass wider risk referral and consultancy responsibilities.

As a Business Partner Consultant your main tasks will include, but will not be limited to:  

  • Supporting the Key Account management. Cash Management, Underwriting, Compliance and Customer Relations in identifying risks and making recommendations on how these risks can be managed to ensure that DAS meets its corporate strategy and stakeholders’ needs;
  • Carrying out ongoing review and analysis of existing Business Partner arrangements;
  • Testing the controls in place to ensure that sales and claims activity is conducted and complies with the regulatory requirements imposed by the FCA and PRA;
  • Understanding the business strategy, market trends and regulatory changes to ensure the business partner oversight remains aligned;
  • Reviewing the Sales/Claims journey to ensure that DAS customers receive the service we intend;
  • Reviewing Bordereaux, MI and policy wordings to evaluate the business partner’s processes around quality/accuracy and maintaining the customer journey throughout;
  • Providing feedback to the Business Partner Trainer and Technical Academy Manager on the business partners training needs;
  • Acting as a referral point and consultant on regulatory and business risk associated with business partner arrangements; and
  • Supporting resolution of strategic or business risks, escalating or inquiring about risk management concerns to second line of defence.
About You

We are looking for applicants that can demonstrate:

  • An understanding of the UK regulatory framework for financial services, in particular the FCA, including ICOBS;
  • An ability to analyse and interpret data from customer, financial and operational data;
  • Evidence of effective problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Auditing and feedback experience;
  • Effective collaboration with functions and stakeholders outside of immediate control;
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills including inspiring trust and influencing;
  • An ability to constructively challenge points of view; communicating information in a clear and commercial manner; adapting style and content for different audiences;
  • A tenacious and effective approach to exceeding targets (both individually and through a team);
  • Good business acumen (including good understanding of internal and external markets and best practice) and strong commercial and financial awareness; and
  • Project management knowledge and experience (desirable).
