About The Role

We are recruiting for an Enterprise Risk Manager to join our team in central Bristol. As an integral member of the team you will support the Risk function to provide direction to the DAS UK Group in delivering the Group’s Risk Management Framework, in particular, partnering and consulting with colleagues across the UK Group and supporting the business in managing its risks effectively.

As an Enterprise Risk Manager you can expect to:

  • Take full ownership of elements of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (as allocated by Head of Risk) to include the development of the approach taken by DAS UK and the generation of insight and reporting;
  • Act as a risk business partner and support colleagues in identifying, assessing and managing risks and risk events within their business area;
  • Work with colleagues across the Second and Third lines of defence to contribute to a co-ordinated and coherent approach to risk, compliance and governance across the DAS UK Group;
  • Contribute to the assessment of strategic business opportunities through an analysis of the impacts on the risk profile of the business;
  • Undertake reviews and investigations of business activity with a view to providing an assessment of the risk and control environment;
  • Act as functional lead on key business projects to provide risk expertise and perspective as required and/or lead on Risk and Compliance projects;
  • Be involved in the ORSA process for the Insurance Company; and
  • Provide high-quality reporting and MI to parties, including Senior Management, local entity Boards & Committee and ERGO Group;
About You

In addition to demonstrating experience in delivering a majority of the tasks listed above, we are looking for a professionally qualified risk manager to Cert IRM level (or with equivalent practical experience) who can demonstrate:

  • Experience of working in a broad 2nd Line Risk Management function in the insurance sector (or connected industry), ideally with an exposure to contributing to the ORSA process and an awareness of the current risks facing the sector;
  • A track-record of developing risk processes and tools in line with a continuous improvement mind-set;
  • An ability to nurture relationships with colleagues at all levels within the firm and with fellow professionals as part of an external network that allows for free exchange of views and ideas;
  • Key expertise and experience of enabling the management of Operational Risk with the ability to draw together outputs and insights across all risk categories to develop the Group’s understanding of Enterprise Risk;
  • An ability to apply technical knowledge of risk and risk processes at a practical level which is outcome focussed;
  • A track-record of personal and professional development and a commitment to ongoing development (including studying for appropriate risk qualifications up to Diploma level);
  • The ability to maintain a healthy balance between work-life and personal-life to manage competing demands in an effective manner; and
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to constructively challenge at all levels of the organisation.

Whilst this is notionally a full-time role, we are happy to consider flexible or part-time working arrangements for the right candidate.
