About The Role

We have a new opportunity for an Information Manager to join our Information Management (IM) team in Bristol. Reporting to the Director of Technology, Data, Strategy and Change (TDSC) this position will oversee the delivery of the enterprise strategy for Business Intelligence (BI).

This role is primarily tasked with:

  • Working with the TDSC leadership team to identify and define the enterprise BI strategy;
  • Working with the Architecture & Governance Group (AGG) to develop the data roadmap;
  • Ensuring that the BI needs of the organisation are identified and delivered to the required quality/timetable;
  • Managing the day-to-day activities of the IM team;
  • Providing direct day-to-day leadership to the Data Warehouse (DWH) team;
  • Overseeing the delivery of the work of the BI team; and
  • Ensuring adherence to all architectural, governance and compliance requirements.
About You

We are looking for applicants that are passionate about data and information and who can demonstrate:

  • A good understanding of how to use data/BI to enable self-service reporting and analysis;
  • Proven experience driving and developing technical DWH delivery teams;
  • Experience of DWH delivery standards, processes and best practices;
  • Good all round and hand-on BI knowledge and skills;
  • A strong awareness of data governance practices, including data protection;
  • Knowledge of Kimball methodologies and practices; Cognos;
  • People management and leadership experience;
  • Problem solving and planning skills;
  • A can-do attitude to manage and mitigate risks to maintain delivery commitments;
  • Good communication and relationship building skills; and
  • Business acumen/commercial and financial awareness.

It is desirable but not essential to have:

  • Working experience of SSIS, SSRS, OLAP, SSAS and MDX;
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and working within regulated environments;
  • Demonstrable experience of Agile/Scrum; and
  • Experience of system test approaches, methodologies and tools.
