About The Role

We are recruiting for a Senior Associate to join our Personal Injury team at DAS Law on a 12 month fixed term contract. DAS Law is an ambitious and innovative law firm occupying offices in the heart of Bristol. About the role:

As a Senior Associate you will report to the Principal Associate (Motor) of the Personal Injury Department and will be responsible for the management, supervision and development of one of two MOJ RTA Teams.

Your main tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Ensuring that cases are dealt with promptly and in accordance with the Claims Handling Model;
  • Running an individual caseload from inception to conclusion, taking all necessary steps to bring the claim to a successful conclusion as swiftly as possible, including the issuing of court proceedings.
  • Ensuring that each team member achieves financial and performance benchmarks;
  • Conducting monthly performance review meetings and bi-annual appraisals;
  • Carrying out regular audits and file supervision in accordance with the Company’s Risk Assessment and Supervision Policies;
  • Providing day to day advice to the team in respect of claims;
  • Complaint handling in line with DAS Law’s policy and procedures; and
  • Undertaking all/any reasonable tasks relating to the running of the team as set up by the Head of Personal Injury.
About You

We would like to hear from solicitors or candidates with equivalent qualifying experience, who can demonstrate:

  • Substantial experience of running an RTA personal injury caseload – both MOJ Portal and Fast Track;
  • A proven track record of managing and providing technical supervision to a team of people dealing with MOJ Portal motor claims;
  • Sound technical knowledge of Road Traffic Accident claims;
  • Thorough awareness of applicable cost regimes and an ability to conduct complex liability and quantum claims;
  • Excellent working knowledge of CPR, Part 8 proceedings, the MOJ process and exit points;
  • A strong understanding of compliance issues and an awareness of the requirements of the SRA Code of Conduct;
  • An ability to show a strong commercial awareness by providing input into budgets and forecasts for the business planning process;
  • Experience of dealing with complaints both over the telephone and in writing; and
  • Strong IT and case management skills with an ability to implement process change.
