About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join the HR team at DAS UK Group in central Bristol. This is a unique opportunity to support both DAS Insurance and DAS Law by delivering a generalist and commercially focused HR service, whilst also providing wider support to the HR Expert Centre Team.

This role will provide specialist advice to all levels of management and employees in key HR areas such as Employee Relations, Performance Management, Absence Management and Reward.

In this role you can expect to:

  • Support the delivery of the DAS HR strategy and agenda, through the provision of professional, pragmatic and commercial advice and guidance to stakeholders, employees and managers within the organisation across all HR specialisms;
  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic people initiatives as required by the HR Business Partner or other members of the management team;
  • Support mangers in becoming effective leaders by upskilling them in general people management principles and behaviours to create a culture where people want to be and do their best;
  • Produce and analyse HR Management Information and report on a regular and ad-hoc basis to help identify trends and areas for improvement;
  • Actively participate in project related activity across the HR department or amongst the wider business;
  • Be a trusted advisor to the business and be seen as a specialist in all areas of HR, with a specific emphasis on providing reliable and pragmatic Employee Relations advice to managers across the business;
  • Support other areas of the HR Expert Centre to ensure that service level expectations to the business are adhered to, for example acting as support to the HR Administration Team to deal with more complex queries that are escalated or supporting during periods of increased work volumes, including the issuing of letters where required;
  • Work with HR Expert Centre colleagues to identify and implement relevant HR process and procedure improvements to enhance the service offered to managers and employees;
  • Work with our Learning & Development (L&D) team to design and undertake relevant ad-hoc training for line managers and employees on either a 1:1 or group basis;
  • Mitigate any people management related risks across the business by guiding, coaching and supporting managers around key HR policies, processes and procedures; and
  • Work with managers to ensure best practice HR solutions are followed and implemented, challenging as appropriate where this is not the case and escalating risk issues through the HR Business Partner(s) or Head(s) of HR as required.
About You

This role would suit a credible and self-sufficient individual who is able to demonstrate:

  • Previous HR advisory experience, preferably gained in a professional or financial services environment;
  • A good working knowledge of HR policies and practices, with the ability to use this knowledge to advise and influence at all levels of the management hierarchy;
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or studying towards qualification, or equivalent experience gained in a generalist HR role in a busy department;
  • Good organisational and time management principles, with the ability to prioritise and balance competing workloads effectively;
  • An ability to work on own initiative with little supervision and make decisions relating to HR matters where required;
  • The ability to use, understand and report on HR statistical data with a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages; and
  • A passion for delivering the highest possible standards of service to managers and employees with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
