About The Role

We have a new opportunity to join DAS UK Group as an End User Computer (EUC) Engineer. Based in central Bristol and located a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads, the EUC Engineer will support the delivery of a stable and compliant end-user computing infrastructure to staff and selected business partners.

The role will include working closely with colleagues in the EUC team, and the wider Operations section, to support, maintain, configure and upgrade all elements of the EUC infrastructure estate.

As a key member of the team your main duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Providing appropriate technical support for all end-user computing hardware, software and networks across the business;
  • Understanding and administering the EUC environment across the business including stability, performance, cost and use;
  • Supporting and advising on the development of business cases for appropriate end-user-computing solutions;
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of clear disaster recovery policies and procedures in relation to the EUC environment;
  • Providing appropriate technical support for hardware, software and networks across the business;
  • Working with internal colleagues and third parties in order to deliver technical services, ensuring established service levels are adhered to at all times;
  • Using automation wherever possible to build new, or improve existing technical capabilities;
  • Tailoring the EUC environment to deliver a seamless, intuitive user experience; and
  • Working within established IT controls to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information throughout the organisation;
About You

We are looking for applicants that have a thirst for learning, a passion for technology and who have:

  • Ideally two years’ experience in supporting and maintaining relevant technologies within a VMware based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure;
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining other end-user computing solutions including physical desktops, mobile devices (laptops, tablets, smart phones), printers and end-device security and remote access technologies;
  • Demonstrable experience in supporting a Windows 7 desktop estate;
  • Experiencein Windows Server 2008 and 2012, use of Active Directory and other core networking technologies such as Group Policy Management;
  • An inquisitorial and problem solving focus to provide exceptional service delivery to all users of the EUC technologies;
  • Highly effective communication skills (written and oral) and a dedication to providing a great customer service;
  • An ability to balance quality of output with pace by managing time effectively;
  • Enthusiasm to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advances; and
  • An ability to inspire trust in relationships within the DAS UK Group and external parties to facilitate the delivery of a stable and compliant end user computing infrastructure.

It is desirable but not essential if you have:

  • Financial Services industry experience;
  • Formal VMware Training evidenced through certification;
  • Scripting using current tools such as PowerShell;
  • Experience of supporting a Windows 10 desktop estate;
  • Zero client administration using Teradici Management Console;
  • Experience supporting a VMware Horizon Mirage environment;
  • Creation and deployment of Application via ThinApp, App Volumes and App Layers;
  • Knowledge of vCOPS and UEM;
  • Working knowledge of SQL Server;
  • Working knowledge of Remote Access technologies (Juniper);
  • Working knowledge of endpoint encryption technologies (Bitlocker); and
  • Working knowledge of mobile device management technologies (AirWatch).
