About The Role

We have an exciting new role for a Legal Assistant to join our Personal Injury department in Bristol on a permanent basis for 11 hours a week (Tuesday and Friday) where you will assist a team of Litigators in handling a caseload of litigated personal injury claims.

Working in a team environment you can expect to provide all forms of administrative support to the team including; calls to clients, medical agencies and insurers, resolving ledger queries, dealing with routine client issues and general tasks such as collating Court paperwork and trial bundles.

As a Legal Assistant you will:

  • Assist a team of litigators handling personal injury claims from inception to conclusion;
  • contact clients and liaise with medical agencies to obtain medical records;
  • submit files for closure where there is no prospect of success;
  • ensure notes are kept of all telephone calls, perusals and attendance notes;
  • ensure paper and electronic files are secured and that incoming post is logged and maintained;
  • chase third party insurers, police and client’s insurers to obtain documentation for litigators to form an assessment of liability; and
  • ensure all limitation dates and Court deadlines are compiled and diarised.
About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • General administrative experience preferably gained in a professional or financial services environment;;
  • excellent client care skills, attention to deal and organisational skills;
  • Experience as a litigation assistant handling a caseload of personal injury cases in a team environment is desirable but not essential; and
  • an understanding of CFA funding and ATE Insurance is an advantage but not essential.
