About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Compliance and Risk team to design, implement and manage the ROI Compliance Annual Plan, as part of the DAS UK Holdings Compliance Plan. Based in Dublin, you will act as an independent advisor/consultant to the core operation, providing detailed reporting to the Head of Compliance on all local matters. In addition, you will act as a local liaison to the Head of Compliance based in the UK on all ROI regulatory matters and associated Insurance compliance activity.

As part of this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the proactive identification and management of regulatory controls, provision of technical compliance support and guidance and to support the ROI operation and management team to discharge its responsibilities in accordance with Group and local jurisdictional regulatory and legislative requirements

The main tasks will include but will not be limited to:

  • Supporting the delivery of the DAS Group Compliance strategy and agenda through the provision of professional, pragmatic and business focussed technical advice and guidance to stakeholders, employees and managers within the organisation;
  • acting as a liaison and providing support and compliance advice to the business in managing compliance requirements while adhering to tight deadlines;
  • reviewing and assessing compliance requirements on significant business projects, ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements arising from projects and business initiatives are being considered and included within project scope;
  • leading on the development of an ROI specific Compliance Plan as part of the larger Group Compliance strategy and provision of assurance assessments and recommendations for improvements in conjunction with the Head of Compliance;
  • assisting with engagement with Regulatory Bodies and themed inspections;
  • engaging proactively with business stakeholders providing timely and professional advice and guidance as required, leveraging Group support as required to ensure effective remedial action, enhanced controls are in place and robust;
  • assisting the Head of Compliance with the delivery and maintenance of the compliance Annual Plan and assurance monitoring programme and provision of associate reporting and MI supporting the wider team in the active management and closure of identified control weaknesses and open assurance actions;
  • producing and maintaining effective management information both internally and externally in particular monthly quality performance metrics, Compliance and Conduct Risk dashboards and development of business specific scorecards; and
  • working with local management to ensure best practice compliance and regulatory risk solutions are followed and implemented, challenging as appropriate where this is not the case and escalating risk issues as per the formal reporting processes.
About You

As a Risk and Compliance Officer you will have:

  • Proven analytical experience in a General Insurance industry;
  • 5 years + compliance and regulatory experience in a Compliance Officer role in Insurance or Financial Services;
  • an understanding of the UK regulatory framework for financial services in particular the FCA/PRA, including ICOBS (desirable);
  • proven capability with Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Access;
  • an ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and make decisions on medium level risk;
  • strong knowledge of legal and regulatory environment in ROI and UK; and
  • knowledge of insurance processes and operations.
  • strong analytical and research skills with excellent report writing and communication skills; and
  • strong problem solving skills, self-motivated, an ability to plan and prioritise workload in order to achieve deadlines.
