About The Role

We are recruiting for a Paralegal to join our Litigation and Dispute Management department based in Bristol. The team comprises over 40 solicitors, paralegals and support staff and is led by a Legal 500 and Chambers rated partner.  The Litigation and Dispute Management team undertakes a wide range of litigation work, at all Court and Tribunal levels and encourages an early level of client contact and file responsibility. 

As a Paralegal you will proactively handle a caseload of varied property cases mainly on the Fast Track. As part of this role you will review and evaluate property claims consisting mainly of damage, nuisance and trespass for prospects of success and negotiate and litigate claims through the civil courts to conclusion.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Efficiently managing a caseload of property litigation matters from start to finish, including assisting in claims of a complex nature;
  • assessing prospects of success of property claims initially and on an ongoing basis;
  • negotiating claims to a successful outcome through the most efficient and economic means;
  • taking ownership of customer problems until resolved, ensuring that a high standard of service is provided to the client at all times;
  • undertaking reasonable tasks as instructed by the Senior Associate; and
  • assisting the Head of Department and leadership team as required;
About You

We would like to hear from candidates who have completed their LPC and/or working toward CILEX qualification with a track record in civil litigation, ideally with exposure to property litigation.

As a Paralegal you will:

  • Have at least 1-2 years’ experience of running your own caseload;
  • have comprehensive working knowledge of property law and civil procedures;
  • be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of legal terminology and process so as to be able to competently run a caseload of property litigation cases and /or cases with complex aspects;
  • be articulate and confident in client care and have the ability to embrace a changing environment in a new kind of law firm; and
  • have demonstrable experience of using case management systems.
