About The Role

We are looking for an Associate to join DAS Law in Bristol.  The Employment Team comprises of over 30 Lawyers, paralegals and support staff split over two sites, one in Bristol and the other in Bedwas, South Wales. The team undertakes a wide range of litigation work, advising on all aspects of employment law acting for both employees and employers and encourages an early level of client contact and file responsibility.  In addition to litigation, the team provides non contentious HR Support to several large commercial clients.

The team is now looking to further bolster its expertise and capabilities to grow in the market of HR support and other non-contentious matters and is seeking outstanding candidates for the role of Associate.

In this role you will benefit from: 

  • Working on a wide variety of litigation matters both in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeals Tribunal acting for both employees and employers;
  • exposure to a range of complex legal issues including discrimination, equal pay, TUPE, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and other contractual claims;
  • responsibility for all claim stages, from inception to conclusion, including drafting of pleadings, witness statements, direct client contact, advocacy, and negotiation;
  • advising commercial clients on non contentious matters including drafting of staff handbooks, contracts of employments and advising on internal matters such as grievances and disciplinaries; and
  • a genuine and real ability to develop your role, expertise and career within the Employment Team.

About You

We would like to hear from hard-working and ambitious Solicitors, Legal Executives or those with equivalent qualifying experience, who are keen to work in a collaborative team environment. 

In addition:

  • You will be able to demonstrate outstanding client care skills and will be articulate and confident in your dealings with others; and
  • you will have a comprehensive working knowledge of employment law with at least a years’ experience dealing with employment cases.
