About The Role

We have a new opportunity to join DAS UK Group as a Data Centre (DC) Infrastructure Technical Lead. As part of the DC Infrastructure Engineering team, the successful applicant will support the delivery and development of a stable and compliant DC infrastructure for DAS.

As the key link to the Solutions Architecture, Information Security and Business Continuity functions within the wider IT department in developing appropriate DC solutions to business needs, the Tech Lead will need be able to exercise good communication skills and an ability to build and inspire trust in relationships within DAS UK Group and with external parties.

As an integral part of the team, you will co-ordinate the technical work of the DC team including a blend of day to day operational maintenance (including production changes), mandatory and discretionary upgrades, business projects and IT Risk Management, all of which are conducted within an ITIL aligned framework. 

 

 
About You

We’re looking for applicants who are experienced in supporting and maintaining relevant technologies within the Data Centre, predominately involving VMware-base Virtual Server Infrastructure, Windows Active Directory, iSeries mainframe, SIP/IP Telephony Infrastructure, MPLS (WAN). It’s also important that the successful applicant has a passion for technology with an enthusiasm to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advances and is committed to providing an excellent customer experience.

As well as acting as a source of support for the team on technical issues and escalations, we’d like to hear from applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 Azure and AWSusing Azure AD, Active Directory and other core networking technologies such as Group Policy Management;
  • An ability to balance quality of output with pace by managing time effectively;
  • Previous experience of producing infrastructure solutions for a variety of systems, including live, test and development environments;
  • Configuration, testing, documentation and maintenance of virtual systems including VMware VSphere ESXi/vCenter and Hyper-V technologies;
  • Configuration and maintenance of infrastructure maintenance and support tools including backup, security patching, system auditing and configuration management tools;
  • Experiencing in implementing backup solutions for a variety of workloads including MS SQL server, with a good level of understanding of compliance aspects of backups;
  • Good end to end infrastructures stack understanding;
  • Fluency in reading logs files and network traces to troubleshoot complex technical issues;
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining an Enterprise Telephony environment including Contact Centre (Front office and back office) use cases;
  • Awareness of key aspects of the Regulatory and legal environmentunder which the Company operates (GDPR compliance, FCA guidance on use of Cloud services, etc.);
  • An ability to liaise with Architects to produce well documented infrastructure based on design;
  • The ability to break down project tasks into workable activities for the Data Centre Team;
  • Take the lead on requirements gathering tasks for infrastructure tasks and projects;
  • A Working knowledge of SQL Server;
  • Working knowledge of Middleware (Jboss/Openshift) environment;
  • Working knowledge of administering Linux-based operating systems (Red Hat family of OSes); and
  • Good scripting skills using PowerShell, puppet, ansible, terraform, etc.

  • AS400 Administration
  • Strong Documentation Skills (HLD and LLD using Visio)
  • Experience in supporting and maintaining an Enterprise Telephony environment including Contact Centre (Front office and back office) use cases;
  • A Working knowledge of SQL Server;
  • Working knowledge of Middleware (Jboss/Openshift) environment;
  • Working knowledge of administering Linux-based operating systems (Red Hat family of OSes).

  • Project and customer management experience
