About The Role

We are looking for a Project Delivery Manager who is passionate about the delivery of Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Governance (DG), to join our Information Management team in Bristol on a permanent basis. As a Project Delivery Manager you will have a strong understanding of how to use BI and DG to best enable and support Self Service Cognos MI reporting and analysis, delivering sustainable Data Warehoue (DWH) and Cognos ouputs.

As a Project Delivery Manager your main tasks will include:

  • Driving the end to end delivery of multiple concurrent BI and DG projects and initiatives within agreed timescales and budgets;
  • providing technical knowledge for BI and DG delivering best practice, supporting the mitigation of technical challenges;
  • maintaining the integrated technical delivery plan for all BI and DG;
  • ensuring the delivery plan includes the correct governance milestones and signoff to align with any required IT, IMCC best practice or standards;
  • ensuring all dependencies and resources are clearly captured and highlighted, across the BI and DG Teams as well as wider IT and Business resources, key delivery mile stones are highlighted and used for communication and developing and maintaining BI and DG delivery Roadmaps;
  • working in collaboration with DWH and MI Technical leads to allocate work and maintain delivery plan, design and Build, release and testing schedules;
  • managing stakeholder relationships and monitoring delivery against plan;
  • working with Technical leads to mitigate risks and delays;
  • maintaining the central IM Team delivery risk and issues register;
  • working with Business Leads and stakeholders to understand, articulate and capture Business benefit, cost savings, ensuring delivery benefits and value is captured and monitored
  • working closely with the BI BA’s and technical leads to estimate base line delivery plans the BI BA’s captured, detailing business and technical BI requirements to support BI design and delivery by providing ROM and estimates for planning; and
  • presentation of key information/IM strategy across business teams at team meetings.
About You

In addition you will have:

  • Hands on experience and an understanding of BI/Data delivery (essential);
  • excellent MS Project skills, including detailed technical delivery and milestone planning;
  • hands on experience of delivering multiple concurrent BI and DG projects and initiatives, maintaining delivery deadlines, managing resource dependencies and mitigating technical issues;
  • an understanding of Information Management and Data Governance Strategy, familiar with industry frameworks such as DAMA;
  • a good understanding of BI best practice with good general BI and DG knowledge;
  • an understanding of the principles of DWH design, dimensional and relational modelling and BI delivery using leading BI software such as Cognos BI / Business Objects etc. to support the embedding of a new Planning capability within the team;
  • experience of driving and supporting User Acceptance testing to build trust in BI and DG deliverables;
  • demonstrable experience of effective stakeholder communications and communication planning;
  • confidence to engage members of the Leadership Team where required;
  • excellent relationship building skills, building and inspiring trust in BI and DG, constructively challenging points of view, adapting style and content for different audiences;
  • demonstrable experience of influencing and effective collaboration with IT and Business Teams and strong stakeholder management;
  • strong analytical and technical BI and DG delivery planning; and
  • business acumen (including good understanding of internal and external markets and best practice) and strong commercial and financial awareness.
