About The Role

DAS UK has recently been acquired by ARAG SE and is now in an exciting phase of growth. 

We’re looking for a talented Sustainability Lead to lead on the development and implementation of organisational policy and strategy relating to sustainability, climate risk and transition to net zero. This is a fantastic opportunity to help promote awareness and good practice at all levels within the organisation.

Within this varied role, the successful candidate will look to ensure appropriate policy, process, controls and risk mitigations are established and embedded in the organisation. Your key areas of focus will include the business’ approach to environment, sustainability and climate change across all business functions. In addition, you'll develop the approach, tools and materials to support management of sustainability, environment and climate related topics, regulation and reporting including transition to net zero planning. In addition, you will be required to compile evidence and documentation for the relevant governance committees and executive members.

Due to the nature of the role, it is key that you hold excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to build established and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will look to ensure your demonstrable interest in the subject matter and best practice is communicated clearly and effectively, with the ability to tailor your message to the relevant audience.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with previous experience of working in a sustainability role. You'll have a clear understanding of organisational culture, and the ability to collaborate with staff in related management disciplines. This role would suit candidates with project management skills, as well as understanding of continuous improvement. It is essential that you can demonstrate effective written and verbal communications skills, and ability to convey complex information in writing or through presentations to a range of audiences.

In addition, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with ISO 14001. TCFD, SDR, EU CSRD, GRI, SBTi, SDG
  • Facilitation skills to plan and direct meetings, training workshops and exercises.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as highly structured and organised with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated – able to work autonomously and as a member of the team
  • Ability to write polices which satisfy both legal and organisational requirements.
  • Ability to communicate and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders, using language appropriate to the audience.
