About The Role

We have a great new opportunity for a Costing Assistant to join DAS Law (part of ARAG UK), providing support to our Legal Costs Team in our Complex Department.

The successful applicant will be required to help ensure the smooth functioning of our office and support our costs lawyers with effective case management. As part of this fast-paced environment, you will thrive under pressure and be able to deliver results within tight deadlines.

In this varied and interesting role you can expect to undertake the following tasks:

  • Providing general administrative support to our costing team,
  • Collating and drafting billing information for internal and external payees.
  • Checking disbursements on settlement of cases, general housekeeping and paying of disbursements by cheque or bank transfer where required.
  • Reviewing of documents to include identifying legally privileged disclosure, redacting and sorting.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing post.
  • Working with others to deliver on team SLA’s, KPI’s, financial and performance targets to drive efficiency, performance, billing and throughput within the team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail and must be highly organised.  We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the following:

  • Understanding of day-to-day operations of a legal office;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills;
  • An ability to juggle multiple activities and work under pressure.
