About The Role

DAS UK Group is looking to bring on board a driven and proficient Enterprise Risk Manager to join the Risk and Compliance department on a fixed term basis until July 2024. Reporting into the Head of Risk, this is a great opportunity to support the business in taking informed decisions by providing expert insight and proportionate processes which allow for a robust consideration of risk. The successful candidate will provide direction to the DAS Group in delivering the Group’s Risk Management Framework, in particular partnering and consulting with colleagues across the UK Group to support the embedding of the core components of the Framework whilst supporting the business in managing its risks effectively.

Within this role you can expect to act as a Risk Business Partner to key risk takers across the wider business (e.g. Leadership Team). This will involve providing support, challenging when applicable and advising on the management of risk and the operation of an effective control environment. In addition, you will support colleagues in identifying, assessing and managing risks and risk events within their business area and ensure that appropriate records are maintained and reported. It is key that you will take full ownership of elements of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (as allocated by Head of Risk) and ensure that these remain appropriate to the size and complexity of the business, using external networks and sources to establish a proportionate and robust approach.

About You

We are keen to hear from candidates with previous experience and understanding of the Risk Management Framework. Ideally you will be familiar with Second Line processes, including amending and embedding, and hold the ability to build relationships with other business areas through ongoing engagement, support and collaboration.

In addition, we are ideally looking for candidates that can demonstrate:
•           Strong facilitation skills for application of the risk management process, including influencing for promotion of risk culture 
•           Ability to support the business in having high quality risk discussions including challenge, alongside maintaining appropriate risk documentation
•           Strong communication and report writing skills with the ability to adapt styles according to media, audience & message



It is desirable that you will hold IRM International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management (or equivalent); or Insurance equivalent e.g. Cert CII / Actuarial qualifications, but this is not essential. Underwriting and / or Actuarial knowledge would also be advantageous, but again, not essential.
