About The Role

We are looking for an Employment Lawyer to join our Employment team in Bristol. This is a great opportunity to become a key member of the team as we grow DAS Law as independent income generating law firm and a major player in the legal market.

The Employment department handles a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious related employment matters and advises both claimants and respondents on various types of employment cases.

Working within a supportive and progressive department you will have the opportunity to handle a portfolio of employment work for a broad range of individual and commercial clients.

The main tasks will include:

  • Handling a varied caseload of employment matters including; unfair dismissal claims, redundancy, whistleblowing, settlement agreements and TUPE transfers;
  • assessing prospects of success of employment claims initially and on an ongoing basis;
  • reviewing and evaluating employment tribunal claims;
  • ·negotiating and litigating claims through the employment tribunal;
  • assisting clients throughout every stage of a contentious dispute;
  • ·negotiating claims to a successful outcome through the most efficient and economic means;
  • providing non-contentious advice to business partners and commercial clients;
  • maintaining and establishing relationships with both existing and new clients; and
assisting the Team Leader in maximising opportunities for non-reportable complaints and taking an active role to resolve them. 
About You

This is a great opportunity to progress both professionally and personally and will suit someone who is as able to demonstrate the following knowledge and experience:

  • Previous litigation experience with at least one year’s practice of dealing with employment law cases;
  • excellent working knowledge of employment law and procedure;
  • high standards of customer service and understanding of Client Care Principles and the FCA principle of treating customers fairly;
  • strong IT skills and the ability to use case management systems; and
  • the ability to adhere to the SRA handbook.
