About The Role

DAS UK Group are looking for a Claims Handler to join the team in Bristol. Our claims department is at the heart of our market-leading legal expenses insurance provision, and we are looking for individuals who have a passion for going the extra mile for their customers. We have bright, modern offices situated between Temple Meads and the City Centre and we offer the opportunity of flexible working; most of our colleagues work from home at least part of the week. We offer an excellent and comprehensive benefits package and our hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday, with no evenings or weekends.

You’ll use your excellent customer service skills to manage a diverse range of claims, from commercial and personal contract disputes through to employment, legal defence, clinical negligence or personal injury claims. The job involves a high volume of telephone and written communications with our customers as well the solicitors and business partners we work with. We’ll offer full training and support along the way and you will have plenty of opportunities to develop your skills.

This role can be challenging at times and you will need to demonstrate resilience and empathy due to the nature of the claims we handle, however there is always support from a very friendly team, as well as assistance from the wider business should you require it.  You will benefit from a great deal of variety in the claims you can expect to handle and there are always colleagues with experience available to give you a helping hand if needed.

Whether you’re a graduate at the very start of your career or you’ve gained some experience in a contact centre or financial services background, if you are motivated by delivering excellent customer service in a fast paced environment we would love to hear from you. 

As a Claims Handler you can expect to:

  • Manage a diverse range of claims, from commercial and personal contract disputes through to employment, clinical negligence or personal injury claims, whilst keeping up with company and legislative requirements to deliver excellent service to our customers.
  • Oversee the customer experience throughout the claim life-cycle from first point of contact to investigating evidence and making informed decisions on claims outcomes, displaying empathy and compassion throughout.
  • Provide clear, concise and accurate information to our customers, business partners and internal customers.
  • Quickly develop your knowledge of DAS products and policies to become an expert in assessing claims, identifying high-risk claims and managing appointments of litigators and solicitors where necessary.
About You

We are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:

  • An understanding of delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment;
  • Experience of working in customer facing or technical role;
  • A calm and patient manner when dealing with challenging and emotional claims; and
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
