About The Role

DAS UK Group, a market-leading insurance and legal services provider, has an exciting opportunity for a Second Line Engineer to join the IT Operations team in central Bristol. This role is pivotal to supporting the delivery of a stable and compliant end-user computing infrastructure to employees and selected partners. Based in modern offices between Cabot Circus and Temple Meads station, we offer excellent transport links and flexible working opportunities.

In this key role, the successful candidate will support the delivery of a stable and compliant service to end-users and selected business partners. The role holder will be accountable for the oversight, triage and monitoring all first line support tickets raised (as well as involvement in fix activity). It will be the responsibility of the role holder to manage incidents and service requests logged through our CORE ITSM (IT Service management solution.) and work with colleagues in the IT Operations team for DAS Group. 

About You

This position would suit someone who ideally has at least 2 years’ experience in supporting and maintaining relevant technologies within a VMware – based Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (View vCentre, vSphere), experience of Azure and in providing appropriate technical support for laptops, desktops and mobile devices, whilst ensuring service levels are adhered to at all times.

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advances and to showcase a problem solving focus to provide exceptional delivery to all users of the EUC technologies. In addition, we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Working knowledge of Azure
  • Experience in supporting a Windows 10 desktop estate
  • Experience in Windows Server 2012 and beyond, using Active Directory and other core networking technologies such as Group Policy Management, Ivanti and PowerShell
  • An ability to balance quality of output with pace by managing time effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills

Whilst this is a full time, permanent position we support flexible working and are open to discuss flexible working options.

Please note that on occasion we may require this role to cover flexible working patterns, on call, providing cover and working remotely when necessary.
