Litigation and Dispute Management
About The Role

We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Litigation and Dispute Management (LDM) team as a Senior Associate.

Our LDM team comprises over 55 solicitors, paralegals and support staff and is led by a Legal 500 and Chambers rated partner.  The team undertakes a wide range of litigation work, at all Court and Tribunal levels and encourages an early level of client contact and file responsibility.  The team is a hard-working and exceptionally friendly unit which lives the DAS values with a dedication to mutual respect, continuous improvement and client care.

DAS Law receives its instructions from DAS Legal Expenses Insurance and is therefore assured of an on-going source of challenging and varied work.

The LDM team is broadly split into three units, one dealing with Contract based disputes, one with Property based disputes and one dealing with Landlord & Tenant (L&T) possession claims. This opportunity is for an experienced Senior Associate within the L&T team.

The L&T team is made up of 6 paralegals specialising in possession work and report and is headed by a highly experienced L&T Principal Associate.

In the coming two years we anticipate that the L&T team will grow very significantly as a consequence of a number of key new clients and business. The residential possession team is set to grow rapidly.  Opportunities also exist for commercial L&T work within the team, which makes for an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic team.

The role will report into the Principal Associate and will focus on assisting them with managing and supervising the growing team, building on established client and business partner relationships, dealing with a modest caseload and being responsible for the financial performance of all direct reports.

About The Company
DAS Law is part of the DAS UK Group, which in turn forms part of the Ergo Group. We are therefore part of the world’s largest insurance group. Previously existing as a standalone law firm (CW Law) DAS Law was acquired by DAS UK Group in 2013 and is a key part of the Group’s strategy, forecast to provide year on year profitable growth within our 10 year strategy, which was agreed and commenced in 2016.

We have historically focussed on delivering legal services to customers solely via our Legal Expenses Insurance products, which provides a steady workload of litigated cases into the following teams that currently exist;

  • Personal Injury

  • Litigation & Dispute Management

  • Employment

  • Business & Commercial

Whilst this will remain a key part of our ongoing strategy, with the full support of our shareholders we have big ambitions to grow DAS Law as an independent income generating law firm and a major player in the legal market. We will do this by building on our existing relationships and reputation to grow new and sustainable income revenue streams that will allow us to expand the services we offer our customers.

We believe these are exciting times for DAS Law as part of the wider DAS UK Group and we are looking for likeminded individuals who share our ambition to make our high quality legal solutions accessible and affordable.
