About The Role

We are recruiting for a Visualfiles Developer to join a market leading insurer and legal services provider DAS UK Group in central Bristol. This position will work closely with the Legal Solutions business leaders to understand and help capture business requirements, translate these into solutions and ultimately deliver a high quality, fit for purpose, solution into our Personal Injury. Employment and Litigation and Dispute Management departments.

You will work closely with in-house Architecture Team, Visualfiles Technical Lead and the IT Operations team to develop applications and workflows on the Visualfiles platform, ensuring that solutions are designed in line with DAS IT Principles and that they meet operational requirements.

The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing both high level and detailed estimates to enable accurate delivery plans and pipelines to be produced and maintained;
  • Designing, developing and testing IT solutions for user and customer facing web applications and business and integration services;
  • Building solutions within estimate tolerances and in line with the published development lifecycle (SDLC);
  • Providing support for existing applications and external customers as required;
  • Overseeing operational issues should the need arise and seeing them through to resolution to provide system availability to agreed SLA’s;
  • Ensuring solutions meet defined standards;
  • Effectively managing customer and management expectations; and
  • Highlighting any project risks and issues to the IT Demand Planning Manager, the PCM Project Manager or the IT Management team in a timely manner.
About You

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Technical knowledge of: Visualfiles Scripting, Visualfiles Reporting Toolkit, Visualfiles Online, and SQL;
  • A track record of working closely with business users to understand and capture requirements;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives and subject matter experts;
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering fit for purpose Visualfiles solutions in a complex business environment;
  • Sound knowledge of Software Delivery Life Cycles (SDLC);
  • An understanding of project management methodologies;
  • Experience in an Agile environment would be an advantage; and
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry would be an advantage but not essential.
