About The Role

DAS Law are looking to bring on board an ambitious and team-orientated Associate to join our busy Litigation & Dispute Management department in central Bristol. The department comprises of over 40 Solicitors, Paralegals and support staff, and takes on a wide variety of litigation work.

In this role, you will take on a caseload of property based litigation matters across small, fast-track and multi-track claims on behalf of a range of clients from private individuals to large businesses. The position will allow you early file responsibility and client contact in a highly supportive environment with clear pathways to progress within the firm.

Further responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing a caseload encompassing a range of complex legal issues including nuisance, trespass, negligence and property damage from start to finish including drafting of statements of case and witness statements, negotiation, mediation and trial
  • Assessing prospects of success of property claims
  • Negotiating claims to a successful outcome through the most effective means
  • Taking ownership of customer problems until resolved, ensuring that a high standard of service is provided to the client at all times
  • Undertaking reasonable tasks as instructed by the Senior Associate and assist the Head of Department and leadership team as required
  • Fostering and growing lasting client relationships through the delivery of consistent client service excellence
  • Taking on wider roles such as internal training
About You

We are looking for individuals with the following attributes:

  • Ideally between 3 and 5 years’ experience of working within property litigation
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of property law and civil procedures
  • An excellent understanding of legal terminology process and the underlying law
  • A full understanding of departmental risk, identifying new risks and escalating these along with solutions on how to resolve the risks
  • The ability to act on your own initiative and knowing where to seek assistance
  • The ability to adhere to the SRA handbook
