About The Role

A HR Business Partners is required to join a market leading insurer and legal services provider DAS in Central Bristol. The role will support our Law firm and operations so we would like to see people with a professional services or Law background. This role offers a true blend of strategic and operational delivery and where you will be responsible for partnering with Senior Management across the business to support the delivery of an appropriate people strategy.

You will have the support of an HR Expert Centre, where primary responsibility for operational HR delivery sits. However you will be instrumental in driving the people agenda, often with a hands on approach, throughout the whole HR life cycle. 

The role would suit a credible and self-sufficient individual who has a proven background of working in a fast paced, results driven environment. It is important that you are comfortable with challenging our stakeholders in an appropriate way but continue to maintain a strong and productive working relationship.

You will:

  • Be supporting the Head of HR and Group Director of HR to ensure that appropriate people plans are in place across the business to drive employee engagement and ensure DAS UK is seen as an employer of choice
  • Contribute to the achievement of strategic people initiatives as required, for example in supporting restructuring activity across the business and also being the lead where appropriate for people related projects.
  • Challenge business stakeholders to ensure that a high performance culture is fostered that challenges and motivates employees, whilst ensuring our RIGHT Values are evident and brought to life in everything that we do
  • Take responsibility for the analysis of HR Management Information / reports on a regular or ad-hoc basis to help identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Work with our Learning & Development (L&D) team to ensure that operational and strategic learning needs are identified and delivered to support business performance
  • Be a trusted advisor to leadership teams across the business and seen as a specialist in all areas of HR, with a specific emphasis on providing reliable and commercially focussed Employee Relations advice to managers across the business, leveraging support from other areas of the HR Expert Centre where required.
About You

As an experienced HR Business Partner you will

  • Have previous HR management or business partnering experience from within a fast paced environment

  • Come from a Professional services or Law background

  • Have experience of influencing and effective collaboration with functions and stakeholders outside of immediate control (matrix management)

  • Be able to evidence professional human resources expertise and a structured approach to resourcing and L&D practice gained through experience of working at a management level

  • Have specialist knowledge of HR capabilities (e.g. Resourcing, L&D, Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Reward etc.)

  • Have in depth and demonstrable knowledge of employment law, HR policy and practise and its practical application in a commercial environment

  • Have experience of working within a project discipline framework

  • Preferably be CIPD qualified or working towards such a qualification

  • Be able to work independently and pro-actively with minimal supervision

  • Be comfortable to travel at least once a month to our Caerphilly office
